John Carrington, a former University of Maryland faculty member, spent 12 years teaching with the University’s Four-H Youth Program. Carrington’s Undergraduate Degree in Recreation Administration and Master of Science Degree in Adult Education were earned at the University’s College Park Campus. John often chuckles, “I’m thoroughly qualified to teach everyone how to have fun!”
Mr. Carrington spent 11 years as the Assistant General Manager of one of Baltimore’s oldest and best-known tourist attractions – “Lexington Market!” The market’s food has been World Famous for over 221 years. John knows quality and service are always in season!
John Carrington’s acting career started in 1974. He joined the Arena Players and the International Brotherhood of Magicians. John is a skilled magician, clown, juggler, ventriloquist and puppeteer. His credits include television, radio, stage and movies! He worked with Robert Townsend and James Earl Jones in the movie – “Meteor Man!” Carrington performed off Broadway in “We’re Moving On” at New York’s famous “La Momma Theater!” John is currently in his 17th year of hosting the “Maryland Fun Time” Radio Show on WCAO AM (Heaven 600)!
Carrington’s presentations are meaningful as well as fun. His Learn to Read, Nope to Dope and Black History shows are requested by schools, libraries and recreation centers nationwide. John’s Gospel Message Show is sought by churches and bible school groups.
