    Nargas T. Hyman

    Poet, Motivational Speaker, Author,
    Community Leader & Publisher

Nargas Hyman is a graduate of Baltimore City Community College (BCCC) and Coppin State College's Nursing Program. She is a mother of two sons, a registered nurse, an interpretive dancer to spiritual music, and a community leader. She has been writing poetry for over twenty years and takes great joy in presenting her poems to audience through poetry readings and special engagements. Her poetry is inspired by God and her grandmother, Ms. Josephine Johnson Whitfield.

Nargas tutors, mentors and counsels youth on issues involving preventing teenage pregnancy, substance abuse and HIV & AIDS prevention. She also empowers youth and young adults through creative writing and spoken word development seminars.

During the year 2001-2002, Nargas extended her commitment to helping youth by volunteering to share her poetry expertise at Northwestern High School as founder of Express Yourself Poetry Club. In addition, her enthusiasm in sharing her poetry has led her to accepting the role of resident poet for Southside Academy High School in Chill Hill in Baltimore, MD.

Nargas is a self-published author of three books of poetry titled Let It Flow, Have Faith and Reach Out For Your Dreams.

Nargas' credo is "God Gives Each Of HIS Children A Dream... And Everyone Has The Potential To Reach Out For Their Dream."
