Yasmin Shiraz, nationally acclaimed author and successful entrepreneur is a phenomenal woman.
In 1994, Shiraz launched the most-widely read urban entertainment college publication, Mad Rhythms. Within six years, Mad Rhythms had reached over 4 million students. At the same time, as Chief Executive Officer of College Entertainment, Inc, Shiraz single-handedly brought every major record label, urban clothing enterprise and black hair care company as sponsors to her “How To Get Into The Entertainment Business” tour. As keynote speaker of this tour, Shiraz visited over 70 colleges giving a unique blend of education and entertainment.
Shiraz founded Rolling Hills Press publishing company in 2002 and released The Blueprint for My Girls authored by Shiraz. Utilized as a tool of guidance, inspiration and empowerment, the book was re-issued worldwide by Simon & Schuster in 2004. The Blueprint for My Girls has been praised in magazines such as Ebony, Essence, Mothering and others. Shiraz was a featured author and speaker at the 2004 Essence Music Festival and has been a highly sought after radio & TV expert appearing on FOX, ABC, NBC and CBS news affiliates nationwide. Rolling Hills Press will be releasing Shiraz’s debut novel, Exclusive, in September of 2004.
The Signals Agency is Shiraz’s most recent entrepreneurial achievement. The Signals Agency guides The Blueprint for My Girls Network and creates tailored workshops and seminars for youth groups. Shiraz holds her masters and bachelors degrees in Sociology, having graduated from Morehead State University and Hampton University, respectively.
