It's okay to think about the things you want to do, Until it's time to do the things you were meant to do." - From the movie: The Rookie
Want to be Recommended to The Baltimore Worldwide Speakers Bureau Client's?
The Baltimore Worldwide Speakers Bureau (TBWSB) prides itself on helping meeting planners, event planners, corporations, businesses, associations, government agencies, colleges, universities, schools, non-profits, conferences, conventions, and specialty groups find the right speaker at the right price. Our Online Speaker - Trainer Roster only lists 50 quality, reliable presenters annually; however, we are constantly looking for new speakers and trainers to recommend to our clients.
TBWSB is a full-service speakers bureau, meaning that we provide a full range of speakers to our clients and prospects. We work with clients from over 60 industries who are looking to hire speakers and trainers. We do not represent speakers in the sense of helping them find business on an exclusive basis. We do not create a profile for you on our site and electronically link it to your site. We do not swap or exchange links with speakers or professional businesses. We do not market speakers "individually" except through our website and those we choose to include in newsletters, marketing materials, and other communications to our clientele.
Now that you know what we don't do, here's what we do, do:
We do represent speakers and trainers on a non-exclusive basis, meaning that many of our speakers also work with other speakers bureaus. We do promote the speakers that match our clients' needs to the degree that we know them, have confidence in their speaking abilities, can count on them for generating spin-off business, and trust them in working with our clients.
For professional speakers, we offer a money back guarantee to our clients that we expect our speakers to honor. If the customer feels that the speaker's performance was so bad that they did not get their money's worth, we will investigate the reason and could possibly give them a refund. We've been very fortunate, to date, not to have an isolated incident like this to happen in our business.
Professional Speakers
- You must be an experienced speaker or trainer who has a proven track record for being hired for your speaking and training services; on a part-time or full-time basis.
- You must have a demo video or dvd that gives us confidence that our clients will view it as professional (please prepare your video with a label with just your name in bold letters and the title of your presentation. No other personal or contact information other than that of our bureau, if you choose, should be found on your label (that's what bureau friendly means).
- You must have materials that represent you well for the topics you speak about.
- Your speaker press kit materials must be "Bureau Friendly".
- Your typical commissionable fee must be $2,000 or more.
Sports and Celebrity Speakers
- We do not regularly promote tours or public appearances.
- We do expect that you will have a speech that is of interest to a general audience.
- If you do not have a demo video, you should endeavor to record your speeches so you can have a demo made from the recordings.
- You or your agent needs to supply us with press materials, including your net fee schedule (no commissions added), contracts and riders, bio, photos and something about your speech and a web address to get these things electronically to copy to our web site.
Industry Experts, Corporate CEOs and Political Speakers
We need a press kit that includes your bio, your speech subjects, photos, fee schedule (net or commissionable), and a demo video (please prepare your video with a bureau friendly label).

The TBWSB F.Y.I. Bulletin
The TBWSB Commission Rate is currently set at 25% of the speaker's final confirmed contract fee, per booked speaking engagement.
TBWSB adds newly accepted speakers and trainers to its online website roster and database once a year:
1) January 2009 (Speakers screened and accepted in Fall 2008)
TBWSB does have a 1% to 10% speaker turnover (cutbacks) at the end of each year. Sometimes its discovered that a speaker is not a good fit for TBWSB or a speaker may feel that he or she is not a good fit with TBWSB. Which in turns means the removal of the speaker from all TBWSB Speaker - Trainer rosters, databases and directories.
We have fine-tuned our online speaker – trainer roster operations to produce and maintain a consistent systematic list of 50 quality professional speakers and trainers annually. TBWSB does not accept "every" speaker who has a desire to talk—we have made it the new TBWSB Standards Criteria to screen, recruit and accept only the BEST of the BEST. The new TBWSB Standards Criteria focuses on quality—not quantity.

We will contact you if we feel we are a good fit for one another. Please do not telephone our offices.
Thank you for your interest in becoming a speaker represented by the Baltimore Worldwide Speakers Bureau.

We primarily represent professional speakers who have national and international appeal, and spend the bulk of our time managing our online 50 person speaker roster year-round. We are always evaluating exciting
new speakers to offer our customers, but because of the high volume of materials we receive from potential speakers, we are unable to acknowledge the receipt of your material. We do not mail back speaker
materials that are submitted to us for review and possible consideration. We will contact you if TBWSB feels we are a good fit for one another. Please do not telephone.
TBWSB has put in-place a newly revised criteria (standard) for how it now screens, interviews, denies, and accepts professional speakers to our TBWSB Speaker – Trainer database and roster. We are now looking
for the BEST of the BEST—without hesitation or exception. If you’re a consummate professional who is easy to work with, follows instructions and knows how to do business on all levels, then you may be
the professional speaker that fits and works well with the new TBWSB Standard.
Do not waste your or the bureau’s time mailing us your speaker submission packet without a quality DVD or demo video tape of you presenting in front of a live audience. If this “required” item is not included, TBWSB will not screen or
review any of your submitted materials. There will be no exceptions. Again, please refrain from calling.
Thank you for your interest in becoming a speaker represented by the Baltimore Worldwide Speakers Bureau.
